Newspoll has dispensed with two-party preferred polling since February this year, nominally owing to the rise of One Nation but probably because the Murdoch press finds it too painful to produce a weekly poll that describes Labour’s one-party state like a metronome.

More than one in two Australians want Anthony Albanese and Jim Chalmers to cut government spending as a top inflation-fighting priority, according to the latest Newspoll, which also reveals a slip in voter support for One Nation and Pauline Hanson.
