Since the Albanese government came to power, one metric it has pointed to most as a sign of its economic management is the nation’s unemployment rate.
In trend terms, the unemployment rate currently sits at 4.5%, well below the 5.2% recorded in the final month of 2019, but higher than the low of September 2022, when it hit a multi-generational low of 3.5%.
But as one might imagine, there is more to it than the Albanese government claims.
