The Israeli veto on Gulf peace nearly derailed everything last night as talks threatened to collapse owing to Israel’s invasion of Lebanon.
Trump said he had spoken with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and representatives from Hezbollah, which the US considers a terrorist group, in separate phone calls.
“There will be no Troops going to Beirut, and any Troops that are on their way, have already been turned back,” Trump said Monday in a social media post. “I had a very good call with Hezbollah, and they agreed that all shooting will stop — That Israel will not attack them, and they will not attack Israel.”
