The most recent OECD statistics, which are current to the September quarter of 2025, revealed that over the past decade, Australia has seen the weakest increase in real per capita household disposable income among major English-speaking nations:

Between the March quarter of 2015 and the September quarter of 2025, Australia’s real per capita household disposable income increased by just 5.9%. This was lower than Canada’s 9.5% increase, the United States’ 22.2% increase, and the United Kingdom’s 6.6% gain.
Australia’s 5.9% increase in real per capita household disposable income was also far lower than the OECD average of 20.1%.
